Letters from our missionaries

Reverend Ramaiah serves the Lord in India

July 1, 2003

Greetings to you in the name of our Lord Jesus.

I thank the Lord for your kind lives. It is amazing to note that you have been very faithful in sending us the monthly support for ministry and the feeding program. We always thank the Lord for such a compassionate people the Lord has prearranged for us in this era. Today I received the Cheque for $. 150/- promptly.

We are faithfully executing the Lord’s work.

A particular Baptist Church in USA came forward to support the ministry for the period of 4 years in Andhra Pradesh. They have been sending the monthly support for 5 Church Planters. A tribal group by name Yanadi became a very responsive group in AP. By now, we established 8 worship groups among this tribe.

A Medical Team from the same Church in USA will be visiting AP to hold medical and spiritual camps in Yanadi hamlets for 5 days. They also helping us to construct a Church in one of the tribal village called Singareddy Palli.

A New Church : On my recent visit to AP, an interesting event came to our knowledge. A 70-year-old Believer by name K. George was praying over 40 years to build a Church on the top of a hillock of Ranganaidu Palli village where we already have a worship group. There are 200 families which includes10 Yanadi houses in this village.

Mr. George was employed in Chennai ( Madras ) for over 30 years. Now retired from Job and came back to his native place Pokara Palli to spend rest of his life. His village is 2 Kms away from Ranganaidu Palli. He explained about his vision and pledged to offer Rs 35, 000/- ($. 740/-) from his savings for this purpose. Praise the Lord.

Indeed, it was good news to us. I climbed this hill along with Mr. George and few Church Elders on June 23 and found it to be a pleasant place for worship center. We spent few minutes in prayer on the hill and planned to hold All-night prayer meeting on top of this hill on July 18. Star and kids may go along with me to AP for this meeting.

The Urgent Need: As the Lord motivated a Church in USA for Evangelization of Yanadi ministry in AP, there is a compelling need for some one / a group of Believers / a Church to come forward to rescue the Karnataka ministry. However, there are 8 Church planters (including myself) in rural Karnataka. We are struggling hard to survive.

As the days go by, it has become an impracticable task to pay their monthly salaries and other expenses. We are in fear about the fate of Believers and the Church planters if we withdraw. Kindly pray that the Lord would raise 8 individuals / a prayer group / an organization / a Church to stand supportive. The Karnataka ministry is equally responsive and fast growing.

As we were contemplative over this issue and laid down this crisis before the Lord in prayer for some time, He answered us clearly that we should bring these things to your prayerful attention. We request your good selves to give a positive thought to this need and help us to manage. We trust that the Lord is going to do still greater things through your lives.

Prayer points:

  1. The House cum Prayer center at Rajulapadu in Andhra Pradesh, which is constructed up to roof level, is in a dilapidated state. It needs at least Rs. 30,000/- to complete. We are afraid that it might become worst in the monsoon if not attended.

  1. My Father, who is now 87 year old and living in Andhra Pradesh, is very sick. He needs your prayer.

  1. Sarah has completed her 12th grade. We have been praying to join her for medical course to send her as medical missionary to the tribal land. However, We need at least $. 5, 000/- for admission + $. 2, 500/- per year for fees, boarding, etc.

  1. I am in an urgent need of a Motorbike in order to visit far away village Churches and believers on time.

  1. 5 Church Planters need Bi-cycles urgently. Each Bi-cycles will cost $. 54/-

  1. Uttanahalli, Sreenivasapura, Bannimangala, Budigere villages need sites and buildings to hold worships. However, the Churches were established 5 years ago in these villages and the present meeting places are over crowded. Each village Church requires $. 2, 500/- to put up simple structures.

Looking forward to hear from you soon.

Sincerely Yours ------ Ramaiah

Your Beloved friends in India Greet you and  a Very Blessed Year - 2002

We are sure you must be eagerly waiting for our letters and reports in order that you all can pray and share in the Church. We can understand your heart for the Lord and for us.

We always Praise the Lord for giving us such a wonderful, loving and caring family and the Ellworth Assembly of God Church in USA. Once again we Praise the Lord for the same. We want to assure you repeatedly that we are serving the Lord very faithfully. We have given our selves totally to the Lord that we do not consider money, property or assets as ours.

We express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation for your continuous support for the Lord’s Ministry in India. We spent every rupee very carefully that the Lord’s Name is glorified in every aspect.

Many times, we ran out of money that we had to cancel few important programs in December last year and beginning of this month. Though you have been faithfully sending us monthly support for the Ministry and feeding the poor, we could not give you prompt feed back due to very busy Evangelistic activities in the new field.

We also Praise God for the Evangelists, Lay Pastors that the Lord given us to be with us in His field. None of them grumble, stumble, nor mumble for any reason. They understand, Love, Honor, accept our words in all circumstances and occasions, and adjust with us.

Whenever the Evangelists are informed that there is no support for this month, they happily go back and serve the Lord even without food. We whole-heartedly Praise the Lord for such wonderful Servants to serve Him. This year we planned in faith few new programs such as Discipleship Training, Boarding Home for Orphans / Semi-orphans, printing Hymnals and Daily Bible Reading Calendars in Telugu and Kannada Languages, Providing support for helpless Widows and needy Students. We praise God for such burden He laid upon us.

However, late, we are able to prepare few informative materials including Budget for 2002 - Rs. 22,08,000/- for your good selves to have clear understanding what we are really hopping and aimed at. We also planned to raise Rs. 3,89,400/- through local Churches, Prayer partners and well-wishers, through gifts contributions, subscriptions and donations. Hence, the additional expected support from Friends and Prayer partners abroad is Rs. 18,18,600/-.

We are bit scared to send you this huge Budget proposal. Surely, this is too heavy for any individual or church to consider. Nevertheless, when we pray collectively in one accord and trust the Lord nothing going to be difficult for our Lord to provide - for He is the provider of all thins to all --- Praise is to God in the Highest.

We like to send you by post, the photographs and hand written letters of one or few of 12 Evangelists. We request your good selves to share to some of your prayer partners and well – wishers to select one or more Evangelists to support for one year more. Possibly this system may be followed to support for other projects such as Boarding Home, Students, Helpless Widows, Self – Employment schemes, etc.

I am sure this arrangement would help your good selves and the church to pray and plan positively for the ministry in India. We are sincerely praying that the Lord would clearly guide you through in this matter.

Enclosed please find 5 attachments for your prayer and promotion Star, Sarah and Rebecca are keeping well. All of us together pray for your entire family everyday.

The time is short and the need is great. Therefore, we look forward to hear from you as soon as possible.

Sincerely in the Lord ---- Ramaiah

Greetings from Bangalore.

We are in loss of words to express our appreciation and thanks for your faithful support every month. Your sincere prayers are strengthening us day by day to penetrate in the field with boldness and confidence. Today I received the support of March 2001 $150/-.  I immediately felt to type out the letter for you.  All of us are keeping well. Sarah completed her school final exams successfully. Rebecca is still writing her exams. Star is faithfully doing her job in Vishva Vani office earning our lively hood. A week ago I was sick for about 15 days, Otherwise all of us are keeping good health.

Now the Ministry Matters:

1. Apart from New Year retreat on January 1st, We were able to conduct revival meetings in Andhra Pradesh for 3 days between January 26 and 28 in 4 villages in which nearly 500 people participated and renewed their souls.

2. On March 4th, a new Worship center was dedicated in Sreenivasapura with 10 baptized believers. Eight women and two men. This village is about 20 kms north side of Bangalore. It was through the sincere efforts of Pastor David Ramachandra.

3. Pastor David Ramachandra is one of our fulltime Evangelist who takes care of Budigere, Sulibele and newly stated Sreenivasapura village Worship Centers and the affiliated villages to the Centers.

4. The feeding ministry in Baluvanahalli, Budigere, Banasawadi is going on effectively. While feeding the poor takes place every Sunday in Baluvanahalli and Budigere villages, at Banasawadi is once in a month.

5. We feel to start the feeding program in Singareddypalli Worship Center (Andhra Pradesh) on Sundays from April 1st onwards till July end. However the mercury level in this area touches at 47degrees Celsius during the

summer. Those who commute from distant villages for worship can not travel back in the heat. Nearly 60 believers attend the Sunday worship in this center and Pastor David takes care of this congregation.

6. The students in Bible schools E.Muniraju, V.Ravi and Krishna Murthy have come back for the summer practical work on March 17th for three months. They will be of great help in the on going programs in the summer.

7. The Programs for your prayers :

· April 1st : Pastor's and Leader's of our Ministry area get together.

· ,, 1st to 8th : Visiting Ministry area in Andhra Pradesh.

· ,, 6th : All Night Prayer in Uttanahalli Worship center.

· ,, 13th & 15th : Good Friday and Resurrection days programs in two places.

· April 15th to 21st : Speaking at revival meetings in Mumbai-(Bombay).

· April 30 to May 5 : VBS for 300 Children (Residential)in Karnataka

· May 10 & 11 : Youth retreat in Mysore ( Karnataka ).

· ,, 14 to 19 : Gospel Tour to Andhra Pradesh.

· ,, 22nd : All Night Prayer In Budigere Worship Center.

· June 8th : One day Women's Retreat ( Karnataka ).

Five students will be sent to South India Biblical seminary, Bangarapet, for 15 days of Summer School of Evangelism Program from April 28 onwards. Apart from the existing 4 full time Evangelists in the field, we are sincerely praying to add two more Evangelists from April 1st onwards. Otherwise it will be a uphill task to contain the tempo Believer's spiritual growth.

We have great assurance in your ceaseless prayers. We also assure our prayers for you and faithful service unto the Lord.  Sarah will enter in to Collage (11th and 12th standard) from June 1st.Arun, Ananthi and their children are keeping well. Job told me that he is doing well in the exams. Once in a while we are able to meet together for fellowship. The photo albums of year 2000 and 2001 and detailed accounts are getting ready and hope to reach you as early as possible. We look forward to hear from you.

It is our desire that you would make a visit to the field in this year.

May the Good Lord Bless you, the Pastor. Rev.Burton Lowry, and the loving

Ellsworth Assembly of God Church.

To, Dearly Beloved Will and Veena,

Greetings from Bangalore.

I am sad that I kept you in dark for the past few months.  We have
gratefully received the cheques # 6323 for $1150.00 on 1/23/00  and
Cheque # 6356 for $1150.00 on 2/19/00 respectively. Indeed it was a timely
help to meet the urgent needs of on going projects such as

1. Completion of Bulavanahalli Church Guest rooms work,
2. Completion of Bangalore Slum Church contruction,
3. Errecting a temporary worship place in a tribal area of Andhra-Pradesh,
4. Conducting VBS in four centres for 250 poor children,
5. Supporting 5 Bible School students to work with us during summer
vocation for two months commencing April 15th,
6. Carrying out weekly poor feeding,
7. And Conducting a first ever Gospel meeting in trouble torn Slum for
two days in a public place (Stage erected in front of our slum church
in Bangalore) in which 600 people heard the Gospel and about 40 people
made profession of faith.

Though we had all these programmes in prayer to take place, we did not know
from where the support comes. The Lord knew our plans, heard our prayers and
inspired your good selves to support. If we did not receive your support we
do not know what we would have done.

In these circumstances a great man's saying comes to my memory. That is
"God's work done in God's way, doesn't lack God's supply". (Hudson-
Taylor, Missionary to China). With these words we encourage our lives.

All those who benefited by your support expressed their appreciation and
gratitude for your contributions. I made it clear to those benefited that it
was possible by the prayers of Ellsworth Assembly of God Church in USA. We
all praised God for we never thought that the Lord would do such a miracle
in our life.

I and my family are thankful for your unceasing support and the special
gifts that you have sent.

May the Good Lord Bless your families abundantly with all good things that
He has in His store for you all.

Thanking you very much----In Jesus Name---Amen.

Dearly Beloved Will and Veena,

Greetings from Bangalore.

We are thankful to you for your kind gift $150/- for the month of April
which I received yesterday. Same time for the kind response in the Email.

All of us here are keeping well. Your good selves are in our prayer agenda
and trust that The Lord is keeping you well.

A 10 member Gospel team has been sent to Andhrapradesh Tribal area for a
week from May 15th. Since I am in the final unit of CPE, I could not spare
time due to the project work.

We were able to send 7 members for Summer School of Evangelism for 15 days
(April 29 to may14) in South India Biblical Seminary in Bangarapet (on the
way to Chennai) through which 4 of them committed their life for Christ for
full time Ministry and expressed their desire to undergo Bible training from
this academic year ( Starts from June ). We request you to pray for this.

The ministry is in need of a 16mm projector and Jesus film in regional
language. Please pray.

Our best wishes to the pastor Burton Lowry and family and the Ellsworth Assembly of God family.

Our sincere appreciation and thanks for sister Veena whose efforts made us
to receive the Support for the projects.

May the Good Lord Bless you all.

In Him-------Ramaiah.

Dearly Beloved Will and Veena,

Greetings from Ramaiah and family.

Thankful to you for the prompt reply. We received the cheque on  May 29th. We
are thankful for that.  By His grace all of us are keeping well. All of you are in our Prayer
agenda. The schools restarted on June 1st and while Sarah is going to her
school final Rebecca  entered in to middle school.

The whether cooled down drastically while  Tamil Nadu ,Andhra Pradesh and rest
of the country is reeling in hot summer. Including Karnataka at least six
states are affected with severe drought. We here heart rending stories every
day and pray to the Lord to pour good rains in our country.

All our Believers are keeping well. The seven students from Summer School of
Evangelism are back to their homes and actively participating in Church
work. On Sunday 11th we are going to have the final day program for our last
VBS in Banasawadi (Bangalore).

The Lord provided five Bible school students to work with in summer for two
months and four of them will be leaving on June 15th while one Mr. Ruben will
work with us for a year and if the church satisfies his service he will
continue with us. At present he is working in Krupalaya church (Baluvanahalli).

There are five young people who attended Summer School of Evangelism
dedicated themselves for full time Ministry and expressed desire to undergo
Bible training from this year itself. Their names are Mr. Muniraju and Murthy

from  Baluvanahalli,  Mr.Ravi and Prasad from AndhraPradesyh  and

Mr.Ramachandra from Somttahalli (Bangalore Rural District).

Apart from these five active young students, while one Mr. Murthy from
Venkatapura (neighboring village of Baluvanahalli) is entering in to 2nd
year of Bible training, Mr. Ramesh from Bangalore completed one year Bible
course and started working with us from June 1st. He will be placed in
Andhra Pradesh.

While Mr.Ramesh is married and having an year old daughter, Mr. Ruben will
get married soon. Since the Guest accommodation is completed in Baluvanahalli
and declared open on Good Friday, Mr.Ruben will stay in with his new wife (he
is already staying in it).

We need prayers for all these people of God who dedicated for His service.
Each student requires Rs.1200/- per month towards Bible training and Rs.2,000/-

per head for Evangelists. Since we have 15 Churches and 6 of the active volunteers will
be out in to the Bible Training, we definitely are in need of another six full time Evangelists

to replace them lest the Ministry suffer.

By the end of  August my Counseling course completes and I will be actively
participating in the Ministry.

We need your Prayers. Our good wishes to the Pastor Lowry and his family and
the Loving congregation. Star and children are sending their Love to you all.

May the good Lord Keep you in sound and secure.

Thanking you , and Sincerely------Ramaiah.
